Welcome!

Welcome to the art rooms of the Heath Brook and Trahan Schools.  My name is Mrs. Barbati and I have started this blog as a way of sharing the wonderful student work and creativity that abounds in our K-4 schools.  Our students amaze me daily with their excitement and they are a pleasure to teach.  Thank you for your continued support.

Hot off the presses are some amazing Grade One Owl Collages.  Not all classes are finished just yet, but I couldn't wait to share.  The project starts by painting a night sky.  Students are also guided through a drawing of an owl.  Next, they crumple and scrunch paper to collage tree branches onto their sky.  They trace their owl with black oil pastel, cut it out, paint it, and glue it to the branch of choice.  Painted paper leaves are cut out and glued as well.  Finally, a silvery moon and stars are painted to complete the masterpiece!  Delightful, don't you agree?
